900 proof, 37.5 grams of pure gold. First minted in 1821 until 1947. The front features the Winged Victory (The Angel of Independence), 50 Pesos, 37.5 Gr. Oro Puro, 1821" & "1947.

On the reverse displays the Mexican Coat of Arms - an Eagle sitting atop a cactus with a serpent in its beak and talons. The design is encircled by the inscription of ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS on the top half and bottom half by a laurel wreath.
