Magnificent, plastic pieces of jewelry made of gold conquered the hearts of women around 1840. From the small Cannetille jewelry pieces made of gold filigree, which were worn from 1820, the fashion developed into voluminous but still detailed forging, which often found its inspiration in the world of nature, leaves and tendrils. The hardships of the Napoleonic wars were over - with the early industrialization, the time of bourgeois prosperity had come. Precious jewelry was no longer only worn at court. The present demi-parure made of necklace and earrings is a particularly high-quality example of jewelry from around 1840.

A total of 35 precious topazes totaling 38.70 ct are embedded in warm, shimmering yellow gold and show themselves in autumnal colors. Golden, finely veined leaf ornaments frame the gemstones of the necklace and alternate with filigree intermediate parts, which are still subtly reminiscent of the Cannetille works of the immediate past. The earrings and the center piece of the necklace are almost identical in design and show themselves with pendulums in the form of three-dimensional tendrils. The gemstones used here are characterized by their clarity and their warm play of colors. The palette of the noble topaz ranges from light gold to warm honey colors to a deeper amber tone, whereby a symmetrical arrangement of the varying color tones has been cleverly ensured.

It is most likely to be found in Brazil, where as early as the 18th Century the most beautiful topazes of this color family were found. Because of their beauty, they are called Imperial Topaz to this day cf. We have had independent reports drawn up for the well-preserved set, which certify the value of the materials.

35 natural precious topaz, faceted, add. 38.70 ct, max 13.15 x 6.80 x 4.23 mm 585/000 gold, corresponds to 14 carat, additionally gold-plated. The earrings about 4.8 x 1.4 cm, length of the necklace 41.5 cm, total length of the central element.
